Ghosts In The Flophouse

Ghosts In The Flophouse is a collection of film, writings, and music that grew out of the 6 months that I lived isolated in a vacant flophouse in NW Portland. Originating as a series of songs, the music is thick, atmospheric, and poetic. Meshed in the lush atmospherics are readings of books by Nellie Bly and Robert W. Chambers plus speeches from the likes of Eugene V. Debs and William Jennings Bryant. It is presented as a new media website, with text chosen from books and speeches used in the soundtrack, and tied to the lyrics in a randomly controlled way to give each visitor a unique experience. Echoes of footsteps, baby cries, and more make for a sound that is eerie, foreboding, haunting, and gripping. Experience it
